Loser's Lounge The King of Pop vs. Prince at Midsummer Night Swing®

For the first time, I caught the Loser's Lounge at Midsummer Night Swing and it was interesting to see them on such a big stage.  I even got a few shots of the Loser's rhythm section, who are usually hidden behind the singers!

 

 

These are far from my best Loser's shots, though, due to the stupidity of and harrassment by the Lincoln Center press department, who argued with me about the size of my camera for most of the second half of the show.  I wrote a lot more on that here.

Loser's Lounge Carole King

We went last night to the see the always-excellent Loser's Lounge Carole King tribute.  Due to some confusion about the tickets, we ended up watching the show from the light/sound booth, which was cool.  Had I known that I would have brought a different lens, but it was an interesting perspective anyway:

Loser's Lounge Diana Ross

Another great show last night at Joe's Pub! It's always a challenge shooting these shows, with dim stage  lighting and tough angles, but last night was a special challenge as our table was blocked probably 50% of the time by the poor, hard-working wait staff who had to cram through a ridiculously tight aisle. Loser's Lounge Prince

We went to the last Loser's show in the "old" Joe's Pub last night, for their excellent Prince tribute (I remember the Joe's Pub space as a rehearsal hall--I rehearsed a show in there about 15 years ago).  The show, as usual, was excellent, but the lighting designer must have chosen the theme for Prince as "dark" since I had to shoot everything at my D90's maximum ISO, and do a lot of tweaking in Lightroom to pull anything out of the murk.  The next Loser's show in the "new" Joe's Pub is scheduled for October; you can see many of the other Loser's shows I've shot here.

Loser's Lounge Rat Pack Tribute

At Joe's Pub last night, I saw the always-excellent Loser's Lounge.
