Bruce Munro at Longwood Gardens

I finally got down to Longwood Gardens on Friday to see Bruce Munro's amazing light installations. I've designed interactive sound systems for several private gardens over the years (see here and here), and I love this kind of "light art", and I have to say that this is one of the best and most interesting light installations I've ever seen. Beyond the great ideas behind Monro's work, it's the breathtaking scale of this installation that makes it work so well.  When you walk up to some of these installations, it seems like it just goes on forever, which contributes a lot to make this such a breathtaking success.  It's open only until September 29, so go see it soon!

More photos here, and pictures from my visit to Longwood during the holidays last year here.

Also, I'd like to commend Longwood Gardens on its enlightened photo policy, encouraging photographers!  I must have seen a dozen others with tripods on Friday night.  I didn't see anyone cause problems, and all of this will contribute to great word of mouth for the gardens.
