Hello Panda Festival

I went last night to the Hello Panda Festival at CitiField (parking lot). There are now three of these “Chinese Lantern” festivals in NYC—the other two are NYC Winter Lantern Festival at Snug Harbor on Staten Island (my 2018 writeup here) and the LuminoCity festival on Randall’s Island (my 2019 season writeup here). While the Snug Harbor festival probably has the most character, this Hello Panda fest is the largest and probably most interesting, despite just being in a parking lot. A few notes:

  • Parking is a rip off and terribly managed—I would suggest taking the 7 train.

  • If you aren’t bringing kids, I’d say go late and on a weeknight.

  • It would be really cool to see this in the snow.

  • Flushing is right nearby and we went for excellent Chinese food after.
