Moment Factory's SuperReal

I went last night to see Moment Factory’s SuperReal, the “immersive digital art piece” running intermittently at Cipriani 25 Broadway. I’ve seen a lot of Moment Factory’s work (as you can see here), and this is in the same vein as a lot of it: projection mapping, sound, and lighting, all beautifully integrated. The show features various segments and you might enter in the middle, and then you can stick around to see as many as you like. The show can be beautiful and haunting, and there are some whimsical moments as well. The show is structured around a general theme of dreams. You can stare upward from bean bag chairs on the mirrored floor (you are issued booties when you come in to keep from scratching the floor) or wander around and bat giant balloons around. It’s pretty fun. I didn’t bring my real camera but here’s some cameraphone shots.

There’s also some interactivity that most people don’t seem to notice, despite many demonstrations by the roving staff:
