Tár Technology Confusion

I watched Tár last night and I thought it was great. I worked at the Metropolitan Opera and with the NY Philharmonic for years, and the movie nailed the musical jargon, the backstage spaces, the orchestral politics, and the gossip (they name dropped Jimmy Levine and Placido Domingo, both of whom were at the Met while I was there and went down in scandal). The sound design and editing for the film was great. I actually got lost in the story for a while (which is rare for me) and then, the fictional maestro went up to discuss the audio recording of an orchestra rehearsal and spoke credibly to technicians about the differences of real audio file formats....in front of a GrandMA2 lighting console!!!
