My "Moving Beyond Amazon Self-Publishing Purgatory" Talk From A New HOPE (Hackers on Planet Earth) Conference

Last month was my tenth “Hackers On Planet Earth” (HOPE) conference, and my seventh time presenting. This was the long-rescheduled first time for the conference at St. John’s University, because the long-time home of HOPE—the Hotel Pennsylvania—is, sadly, being demolished. But St. John’s is a great new venue with a lot of potential for the future. I was tired recovering from COVID, and only attended in person one day, but it was fantastic to be back. Masks were mandated and I think I saw about 99% compliance. I heard from friends working on the event that they were a bit short-staffed getting loaded in, but from the audience perspective the conference ran very well.
