Gravesend Inn, R.I.P.

Well now that the students have been told, I can announce that on Friday we had to cancel the Gravesend Inn for 2022. Unfortunately with our short-staffing, endless austerity funding, and endlessly late-running construction projects in the building, the challenges just became too great for us to reasonably overcome. It's sad after doing this for 20+ years, and the half-version we did late in 2021, but I'm personally relieved because I would have been heading--once again--into a terrible burn out if this were to go forward. It seems unlikely with the dire situation at CUNY that the project will be able to continue in its classic (massive, 6000 annual attendance) form, but time will tell.
