I’ve been working with one of our students, BaiLin He, on his senior “culmination” project comparing two mixers using the ABX double blind listening test method (something I did for star quad cables back in 2011).
If you have some time, please give him as much data as possible by taking the test by March 31. The test is available here: http://mixerabxtest.online
As I posted last week, DCSoundOp does fantastic and very informative videos on a wide range of sound related topics—you should subscribe to the DCSoundOp Youtube channel which has nearly 10,000 subscribers. I was honored to do an interview with them, which was broken into two parts. Part 1 is here, and Part 2 is now online.
As I wrote before, for a sabbatical article I’m working on about the maturation of show technology and its impact on live performance, I’ve been working on a timeline that’s turned out to be kind of interesting. I’m presenting it at USITT 2019 Thursday, March 21, 2:45 PM - 4:00 PM. Please come out and give me some feedback!
In addition, on Friday, March 22, 1:00 PM - 2:45 PM, I’m on a panel talking about ESTA standards and how they can be used in the classroom.
